Castle Cary, Devonshire, England

This area of Devonshire was given to Juhael de Mayennne by William the Conqueror. Juhael’s descendants build the castle and called it Castle Cary from the River Cary which flows nearby. They eventually took the name Cary from the name of the Castle.
