This video is of St. Olaf’s Church on Alvaldenes Island near Haugesund, Norway. St. Olaf brought Christianity to Norway. There was a major battle at Sticklestad near Steinkjer, Norway, and St. Olaf was killed. Christianity did eventually replace the old Viking gods however. The archaeological dig here has uncovered an old palace, and more evidence of that early time is expected. At the church is the Virgin Mary’s Sewing Needle. Looking at the video you’ll be able to make out what it is. Legend has it that if it ever touches the church, the world will end; and it is said that in the past the priests and workers of the church used to file off the stone to keep it from touching. The Viking farm and museum are also located on this island. http://youtu.be/MFk6m9S9bjs
